Mount Abu

Mount Abu, the only hill station in Rajasthan, the scorching Thar Desert, is located at an elevation of 1220 meters above sea level. Nestled over a rocky plateau, the place is embellished by British style bungalows and holiday lodges.

The highest peak of the Aravali, Guru Shikhar, at 1722 meters above sea level, homes a wildlife sanctuary sheltering species like langur, wild boars, Sambar and leopards. The cornucopia of flowers and trees makes the place a picture-postcard hamlet.

A cluster of Hindu and Jain temples (Dilwara temple, Vimal Vasahi temple, the Lun Vasahi Temple, Adhar Devi Temple and the Shri Raghunathji Temple) marks the land with a historical past. Nakki Lake is another popular tourist attraction of Mount Abu.
