Hampi is a village on the banks of River Tungabhadra which is an abode to the ruins of the Vijaynagar Kingdom in Karnataka. The famous ruins of Hampi have a long story of historical importance.

Most of the places at Hampi were shaped during the 16th century under the control of Krishna Deva Raya one of the Vijaynagar kings, between 1336-1565.

Discussing about the origin of the place it can be assumed that Hampi is a location where the legendary Kishkindha was situated. In Hampi the must-see sight-stunners are Malyavanta Raghunathaswamy Temple, Virupaksha Temple, Vithala Temple Complex, Stone Chariot, House of Victory, King’s Balance, Queen’s Bath, Lotus Mahal, Pushkarini Tank, etc.
