Tulsi Vivah
Come the month of Kartik which is between October to November, worshippers of Hindu religion celebrate Tulsi Vivah. Kumkum is applied on one leaf of Tulsi.
The festival signifies the holiness of bond between a couple. Tulsi is the emblem of a bride which is bound with red cloth for it ensures protection from evil forces.
It is a beautiful sight to see that Tulsi decorated with sugarcanes, mango leaves and flowers. A specialty of this festival is various dishes are prepared and are offered to Lord Vishnu. This practice in Kartik month symbolizes marrying of the plant with the rock.
