Good Friday
Posted in Festivals
Christians observe Good Friday commemorating the crucifixion of Lord Jesus. It is the time for penance and fasting.
Large processions are taken out to the streets with people carrying plank of wood in cross form, representing the cross on which Christ was crucified. It is displayed in churches for the veneration of believers.
In queue the people lines up to kiss, worship it. As crowd kisses the Cross, no bells are rung and in the hearts of the worshipper dwells a profound silence. It is followed by prayers, sermons and meditation. Good Friday signifies victory of good over evil powers.
