Bakri Id

Bakri Id is celebrated enthusiastically by the Muslims all over the world. According to the Muslim calendar it is celebrated on the tenth day of the month Dhul Hijja. This is the day of sacrifice for the Muslims.

On this occasion they sacrifice animals specially goats and that is why this festival is called the “Bakri Id”. This meat of the sacrificed goat is then distributed among themselves. The Muslims celebrate the day by visiting “Mosques” and engage themselves in reading holy “namaz”.

Muslim men, women and children wear new clothes and actively take part in socialization. This day also coincides with the anniversary of the day when the holy “Quran” was declared to be completed.
